We will never have to travel again.
Years ago, Doreen said that she had four places that she wanted to see in the world:
1. Machu Pichu
2. Angor Wat
3. Istanbul
4. Egypt.
So this completes the Stoller Travel Quartet. We will now have time to relax at home, play with the dog, think about getting a new cat. Learning new cooking techniques, fixing the guest bathroom, and painting the house. Should be a nice life.
But back to Egypt.
What a place! We started with a couple of days in London, where I had work. But we also had the great opportunity to have dinner with some old friends:
Doris and Robin are great people to spend time with. Robin had an hour or so trip to come in to London for dinner. Doris lives in Perth, Australia, so she had a slightly longer commute.
Poor Lulu was sad to see us go. (Well, we have a conceit that she was sad to see us go. She stays with Linda, and probably doesn't miss us at all!)
We had a good time in London, even though it was cold. And snowy at least one day.
We saw a couple of plays - Julius Cesar
and 42nd Street.
As I have often said before, there is no play that won't be made better with a little tap-dancing. There was no tap-dancing in Julius Cesar (and it would have been better if there has been) and 42nd street had so much tap dancing, I don't think they could have fit any more tap-dancing into it.
This was the view from our room in London:
and then we had to move to the Oatlands Park hotel in Weybridge. I know it holds nostalgic memories for some (but not for me). It is a terrible hotel.
Plus, it snowed.
but then we went to the airport
and we had THIS view from our hotel. The old and famous Mena House Hotel:
That is a good place to stop this first post.

Yes, a terrible photo. But that happens sometimes in a bar. |
